"We're almost home." Whether you're eight or eighty, those words
have a magic ring, especially when you are talking about your home in
the Pines. And now that we've turned the calendar to 2007, our return
to the Pines is just a few months away. We'll soon be home,
reconnecting with friends and neighbors, settling back in, getting
into the island's rhythm, enjoying the things that make Fire Island Pines
so very special.
Your friends and neighbors on the Fire Island Pines Property
Owners Association Board have continued to work on your behalf during
the off-season. We are spending the fall and winter months on
issues like zoning, trash collection, maintaining and marketing our
harbor, ferry service, the National Park Service, the Pines Party
fundraiser, and so on. We are hard at work so the Pines functions for
everyone's benefit. If you've owned for a year or for twenty, have a
home anywhere between Sandy and Sail, live in the Coops or deep in
the woods, you benefit from FIPPOA's work.
As always, we cannot do our work without YOUR help. We ask you to
join FIPPOA by clicking on the appropriate link below, or print out the membership form and mail it in. And please consider volunteering on a committee - we could use your expertise. In the past year, the number of Household Memberships has gone
up substantially, as couples or partners have each joined. We take
this as a vote of confidence and a willingness to support our
community. Coming together as a community is one of the things that
makes the Pines magic. It is good to say again, "We'll soon be home."
We look forward to seeing you back there, at home.
